STEAM (Science, Tech, Engineering, Art, or Mathematics) and/or medical illustration, medical journalism, etc.
African American

STEAM fields, including science, technology, engineering, art, and mathematics, are historically male-dominated.

Women make up just 15% of engineers and hold only 25% of computer jobs, the majority of whom are white. 67% of STEM jobs are held by white workers, with engineering being particularly white-dominated at 71%, leading many minorities to become discouraged from pursuing STEAM careers.

This scholarship aims to support female BIPOC students who are pursuing degrees in STEAM so they can overcome the barriers to higher education.

Any female BIPOC high school or undergraduate student who has at least a 3.0 GPA and is pursuing a degree in STEAM (Science, Tech, Engineering, Art, or Mathematics) and/or medical illustration, medical journalism, etc., may apply for this scholarship.

To apply, tell us how you’ll use your degree to improve health for minorities.

You may opt out of communications from Bold.org at any time, and unless we’ve first notified you and gotten your consent, you’ll never receive communication from any third parties related to personal information you give us.

What is the scholarship award?

When will the scholarship winner be chosen? How will they be notified?
