Hello! My name is Angel Walker, and I am a dedicated researcher and student doctor in the Class of 2029 at the William Carey University College of Osteopathic Medicine (WCUCOM). As the first person in my family to pursue a career in medicine, I am deeply committed to addressing cancer disparities, advancing precision medicine, and promoting health equity. My ultimate goal is to become a gynecologic oncologist and a leader in cancer research, making a lasting impact on the future of healthcare.
My current research focuses on cancer incidence and mortality trends in Mississippi. By applying epidemiological methods, I aim to inform more effective prevention and treatment strategies for underserved communities in my home state. I am also passionate about personalized medicine and cancer genetics, and I hope to utilize these innovations to improve diagnostic accuracy and therapeutic outcomes for cancer patients.
While I am wholeheartedly committed to driving positive change in medicine, I face significant educational debt. I am actively seeking scholarships and financial support to continue this journey. An investment in my education is an investment in a more equitable, innovative, and compassionate future in healthcare.
