WHAT I didn’t LIKE

There is no culture. It’s very hard to make friends especially as a commuter.

WHAT I LIKED

I love the atmosphere that FAU has. Gorgeous weather (most of the time) and overall very nice professors. The student organizations are very welcoming and it's very important to get involved!

WHAT I didn’t LIKE

The students tend to be pretty closed off to one another unless you have a direct relation to them (Ex. in the same sorority/club). People don't really go out of their way to be nice to strangers.

WHAT I LIKED

FAU is an excellent school in its education. I have had a great experience so far with my professors and have been learning very well. If students ever need help with homework, there is a tutoring center available that provides excellent service.

WHAT I didn’t LIKE

Prospective students should be aware that the social life on campus is not the most lively.

WHAT I LIKED

Florida Atlantic University's Harriet Wilkes Honors College is a small campus located in Jupiter, Florida. As a result of having a small Campus, teachers can provide personal care for the success of their students and are always willing to provide academic, personal, and practical advice. This is a school for students who value great-academic and research opportunities above all other qualities. Here you will find the best mentors and will be able to personally connect with teachers and students in a way that isn't possible in larger colleges. As a result, the campus provides a welcoming community for everyone of every background. I believe there is no college community as welcoming and personal as this one. I highly recommend everyone to visit the campus and see what it offers for themselves.

WHAT I didn’t LIKE

A prospective student should be aware that only a few clubs and activities are available on-campus. The campus is very much academic-based. As a result, there are fewer activities compared to the Boca campus. However, due to the small number of clubs, it is much easier to make your own and very gratifying to see how much your contributions add to any club's prosperity.
