Can I get a scholarship for playing college football?

The number of scholarships given out for playing college football varies based on division. In NCAA Division 1 FBS there are 85 full-ride scholarships given to each team. In Division 1 FCS there are 63 equivalency scholarships given to each team. In Division 2 there are 36 equivalency scholarships given to each team. In Division 3 there are no scholarships.

In NAIA there are 24 equivalency scholarships for each team. In JUCO there are 85 equivalency scholarships for each team. In CCCAA there are no scholarships given. Note that an equivalency scholarship means that the coach can divide the money up between players as they like, while full-ride scholarships are given entirely to a single student.
