WHAT I LIKED

I know there's a stigma against community college and I hope that, as time goes by, that goes away. Community college isn't the bottom of the barrel and it shouldn't be viewed as a last option, or as if you weren't good enough to get into "real" college. Not only can community college save you from four years of paying high tuition rates when financial aid is already not guaranteed every year, but the low costs also enable you to make more cost-conscious decisions. You get to take those generalized courses you'd be paying an arm and a leg for at a four-year institution for less, you don't have to pay housing costs just yet, and I feel like it's a great time to earn money while going to school.

WHAT I LIKED

Prince George's Community College is a welcoming college. I am a returning student and thus far, registering and getting all my finances together has been a breeze thanks to the help of the advisors. I also like that we have the option to do remote, in-person, or dual learning, which makes it easier to plan classes around your personal schedule

WHAT I LIKED

My educational experience at Prince George’s community college has honestly been interesting and worthwhile. I started in August of 2020 when the lockdown was immense so it was online school. Being a freshman at the time, I was very nervous about how well I would adjust to college life. However, the professors were truly helpful in helping me settle down. Once you summon the courage to ask questions when you’re lost, your life essentially becomes easier. The advisors also would help you with any difficulties you have in choosing your classes. The tuition fee is very affordable and you can get the full tuition covered if you apply for scholarships and state your standings. It’s currently my last semester of General studies and it’s been a great experience. I plan on re-applying in the summer to complete my Pre-requisites for pharmacy school. Imagine how good it is for me to be applying twice 😌

Be aware that no one can stop you from reaching whatever goals you’ve set for yourself academically. It will get hard and you can take a break, but never give up!!

WHAT I LIKED

I know it's only a community college but I wish there were dorms available for students who have difficulties with at-home living situations. Other than that, I've enjoyed the majority of the professors I've had, I also enjoy the fact that it's very easy to apply for classes.

WHAT I didn’t LIKE

They should be aware that the campus is average-sized so there won't be a lot of walking done but if you are in hopes of getting an on-campus job they should look somewhere else because options are very limited. Other than that, they should know to always check ratemyprofessor.com before registering for classes.
