I know there's a stigma against community college and I hope that, as time goes by, that goes away. Community college isn't the bottom of the barrel and it shouldn't be viewed as a last option, or as if you weren't good enough to get into "real" college. Not only can community college save you from four years of paying high tuition rates when financial aid is already not guaranteed every year, but the low costs also enable you to make more cost-conscious decisions. You get to take those generalized courses you'd be paying an arm and a leg for at a four-year institution for less, you don't have to pay housing costs just yet, and I feel like it's a great time to earn money while going to school.
Be aware that you're going to have to know the Maryland metro system, but you should be fine.
