I like the flexibility of doing classes online and the teachers' willingness to help you out when needed.
Long Beach City College offers a wide range of classes and I was able to find and enroll in them easily through the Viking Student Portal. The faculty staff is friendly and helpful for any needs that you might have while attending. I have taken online and in-person classes at LBCC, they are both fun and a great experience with the professors and fellow classmates.
I do not have many dislikes about the college, they have great resources and classes here so I had a pleasant experience. Pay attention to the priority registrations when enrolling in classes because they can fill up rather quickly.
At LBCC, you have the opportunity to learn from top-of-the-class, qualified professors at a fraction of the cost of a university. In my experience, the professors were always communicative and clear about what they expected from their students, and they were always open conversations if special circumstances arose and a student needed to make up assignments.
The college itself is split up into two campuses, and even though they try to keep all major courses in a single campus, odds are at one point or another, students will find themselves hopping from one campus to the next in a single day. To their credit, there is an LBCC shuttle that goes back and forth, but since it is just one shuttle, it takes about 30 minutes for it to make a complete round.
At Long Beach City College, I have been helped and supported a lot. The professors, staff, and students are all friendly and great. The counselors at this college are very supportive, very kind, patient, and friendly. They prioritize the students and their education rather than anything else. I love it.
At this college, you can arrange your courses one or two semesters ahead. For example, this spring 2022 I was able to enroll in my summer 2022 and fall 2022 courses. I feel like my education is well planned. This way you can arrange your personal life and work-life if you are working.
Long Beach City College has such a welcoming environment that's easy to navigate. No matter which office/building you go to, the staff will always be welcoming and nice. They provide a lot of support and guidance to help you with your education. They also offer a lot of resources to help anybody in any situation such as food, a daycare you can bring your children to, and even mental health services.
I didn't dislike anything about LBCC.
