She Rose in Health Equity
The She Rose in Health Equity Scholarship is designed to empower and support Black women who are passionate about advancing health equity and addressing the disparities that impact Black women. Health disparities in Black communities are prevalent and multifaceted, with Black women facing higher rates of chronic conditions, maternal mortality, and inadequate access to care. According to recent studies, Black women are 2 to 3 times more likely to experience pregnancy-related deaths than their white counterparts, and they often encounter racial bias in healthcare settings, leading to misdiagnosis and delayed treatment.
The She Rose in Health Equity Scholarship seeks to support students who are dedicated to breaking down these barriers and creating a more equitable healthcare system for all. Recipients of this scholarship will receive financial support to help further their education and career development, enabling them to make a lasting impact in the field of health equity. By investing in the education of young Black women, the She Rose in Health Equity Scholarship helps to nurture the next generation of leaders committed to fighting for better healthcare outcomes and opportunities for Black women and girls.
Fields of study are open. We welcome applications from students in any discipline who are committed to advancing health equity and addressing healthcare disparities for Black girls and women.
