This school was very diverse and open to multiple people. Professors are amazing and love their students, you actually create a relationship with them. Especially with such small class sizes in specific courses you take.
UNC Pembroke offers countless opportunities to learn, explore and strengthen the skills I care about most, as well as the benefits that come from small class sizes. Another important factor for me is the NC Promise Tuition Plan to increase access to a quality university education by reducing student costs, thus, earning a college degree here is more attainable.
Just do what you are expected of as a student, the rest will work out just fine.
The University of North Carolina has been a great experience for me so far. All of my years here have been full of fun and academic achievement. The campus is not too big or too small. It is easy to get around and find your classes. The students and faculty here are friendly.
The area is flat so when the weather is bad, the campus floods. The roommate experience has not been so good for me. The roommate matching system can fail at times. When COVID happened, some people did not follow safety precautions. This has caused me to move off-campus.
I liked the online student programs.
Much diversity.
I'm going to UNCP for Computer Science, and so far, my experience has been pretty good. The majority of my teachers have been very nice, supportive, and helpful. Many of the buildings I have been to are very nice, and the dorms look to be about average size. Overall, I believe it has been a good experience going to UNCP.
Some of my teachers have a very thick accent which can make it hard to understand them.
Some things that I liked about UNCP are the diversity and inclusion at the university. I also liked that the professors there were open and eager to help their students, anytime I had an issue of any kind they were there to help. I also found it convenient with the number of resources that were offered. The library offered free databases which helped with many research papers that were required to be written during my college career. The writing center also helped me with writing papers even with resumes and job applications.
