San Antonio is a pretty boring city. Don’t come here expecting to live the actual college experience. The area of the school is awful. Everything is expensive nearby. The school and its staff have to be begged to do their job. Pretty campus, but it’s not worth it.
I was just a college sophomore when the pandemic started but UTSA handled everything pretty well by moving classes online. After the vaccines came out they slowly began to start in-person classes which made me feel safe that they are always keeping an eye out for the safety of their students.
If you are a commuter be prepared to walk long distances to the parking lots.
I loved how the teachers are very down to earth and adapt their teaching to accommodate students with other responsibilities.
I did not like how it was difficult to locate certain classrooms
What I liked best about my experience at UTSA was the willingness of the teachers and advisors to help their students not only academically but also with job experience, mentorship, and future paths for degree programs.
I took the remainder of my degree virtually due to the pandemic and if it wasn't for the teachers and my amazing advisor I would have only thought of UTSA as an organization asking for money. I felt like there was little student care and many of the emails that would be sent out were for purchasing products
It's a very reasonable school. I've only had one class that was ridiculously hard. Everything else is if you put the time in you'll be fine.
Some of the teachers are disorganized or don't get their expectations correct. Other than that they have a great selection of teachers.
The dining halls have a lot of healthy food options. There is also a wide variety of restaurants to choose from.
Repairs and maintenance take a long time at the dorms.
