WHAT I LIKED

I like the safe environment. The professors take an interest in your academics as an individual. I especially appreciate the helpdesk hours for the engineering courses.

WHAT I didn’t LIKE

There is a credit requirement to go to a certain amount of convocations. Convocation is a 50 min church service essentially. However, you can get those credits outside of convocation if you don't want to attend those. It is more difficult though.

HBU is a really great place to restart your life after high school. It's a small school, but you get to know the people really quickly. The professors all really care for your education and they teach very well.

WHAT I didn’t LIKE

Weigh the pros and cons of attending this school. If you are more focused on academics and the school's program, look into that and compare it to other schools to which you have applied.

WHAT I LIKED

HBU has been a pleasant experience, allowing me to learn more about the engineering field all while enabling me to have fun with others in the engineering field.

WHAT I didn’t LIKE

One thing I dislike about HBU is the lack of engineering majors. Nonetheless, having a major in electrical engineering is exciting.

WHAT I LIKED

This is a pretty small school, so expect to see familiar faces throughout your time staying there. Knowing this, the likelihood of you befriending someone is pretty high. Other than that, classrooms are small as well so you'll have one-on-one options with your professor if you do need any help. There are various tutoring services in the school as well. I enjoy my time at HBU and I don't have any complaints so far. With that being said, definitely give this place a shot, you won't regret it.

WHAT I didn’t LIKE

One thing to be aware of is since classes are small, attendance, at least based on my experience, is mandatory. Another thing to be aware of is although this school is religious, you do not have to be Baptist to attend. They do not force you to change religion, so you do not have to worry about that.
