More food options at night.
I loved the president, Paul Trible, and how involved he was on campus. The faculty was extremely nice and helpful. The cafeterias were clean and served great food. We had fun campus events all of the time. Diversity and inclusion meant a lot on campus, which is very important to me.
CNU does not offer master's and doctorate programs in dentistry to further my education there.
CNU Offers a lot of on-campus activities, clubs, and organizations. It also offers many services to help propel your career and academic standing with tutors, Trained Mental Health professionals, Helpful RA's, core advisors, and detailed major and minor requirements.
The dorms can be a bit rough sometimes for the underclassman.
As a Black student at a PWI like Christopher Newport University, I would not recommend the school to other Black women. Although I've grown up in a very diverse environment Christopher Newport University lacks diversity and it's a bit of a culture shock. I've had lots of experiences being uncomfortable in spaces. On the other hand, the education you'll receive here is amazing. I'm an English major and the English department is exceptional. This is the only reason I stayed.
Beware that the school lacks a lot of diversity and that comes with its own set of problems that can be very hard to overcome depending on the person.
I loved how all of the professors were willing to help me when I asked. The classes I took were not only engaging but also challenging. I made friends for a lifetime and felt like I had a second home.
I did not like that some classes were not entertaining (depending on the professor) and the food was amazing.
I like the people. I've met a lot of wonderful people in my time here. I also really like the staff, they really do their best to help you succeed.
