Volunteering experience with wild or domestic animals

The basis for advancing the conservation of wild and urban wildlife lies in understanding and communicating why human-wildlife coexistence is the foundation of all efforts.

As pollution, emissions, deforestation, and other environmental threats rise, there is a growing ecological crisis. The elimination of animal habitats, combined with the impacts of climate change and the prevalence of poaching, has led to the endangerment or extinction of many plant and animal species. If these patterns persist, the effects will be vast, as all living things are connected through food chains and beyond.

This scholarship seeks to support students who are passionate about pursuing fields related to wildlife conservation and ecological management.

Any BIPOC undergraduate or graduate student who has volunteering experience with wild or domestic animals may apply for this scholarship opportunity if they are pursuing wildlife conservation, environmental science, social-ecological management, zoology, ecology, or animal behavior/cognition. However, low-income applicants, first-generation college students, underrepresented minorities, and those who also have work or internship experience are preferred.

To apply, tell us which problem in wildlife conservation or human-wildlife coexistence is the most urgent and why you feel this way.
