The CIILS Scholarship Foundation is a memorial fund dedicated to the five black people enslaved by the Campbell family in the Appalachian mountains of Virginia. Lucinda, the mother, and her children Cofus and Sarah, along with two who are unnamed were forced to work for the Campbell family until freed on June 19th, 1865. This fund is to serve college-bound seniors and returning adult students, who are Black or Native Americans and reside in Virginia. This scholarship will provide two $500 scholarships annually in hopes of uplifting individuals in marginalized communities in Virginia.

Teresa Brown Memorial Scholarship
Beginning with the 2023 school year. The Teresa Brown Memorial Scholarship Fund will begin accepting applications to award two $2,000 Educational scholarships annually to graduating female seniors in public education in Indianapolis IN within The Metropolitan School District of Lawrence Township Schools that have served in the Girls Empowered and Motivated to Succeed (GEMS), program for at least 2 years. Applicants must have a GPA of 2.5 or higher and an attendance rate of 95 %. Applicants must have an interest in pursuing a degree in education in order to further support our beloved Teresa's legacy and as well supporting GEMS students advancing to post secondary education. In addition, qualifying sudents must demonstrate they have plans to enroll in a college or university for the upcoming fall academic calendar year.
