WHAT I LIKED

Wisconsin Lutheran College has been monumental in my academic experience, which is the most important aspect of choosing a college. While there are some weaknesses in the administrative bureaucracy side of things, the academic programming, and the level of professors' excellence is incredible.

WHAT I didn’t LIKE

Wisconsin Lutheran College can be a little overbearing in terms of policies and tedious details of campus life.

WHAT I LIKED

WLC has a very beautiful campus. The best place to study is the quiet second floor of the library. And when it gets late you can ask the librarians to let you into the basement to study as late as you'd like

WHAT I didn’t LIKE

Wisconsin Lutheran College (WLC) is a small liberal arts college focused more on its conservative religious beliefs than on academics. It was not until 2020 that they allowed women to serve on the school board. All professors must profess a WELS (not just Christain but particularly WELS) faith. This meant I received an education where I never had a professor of color, women were few and far between, and professors' values were often restricted to a very narrow worldview. While the school does not require (or inform students what WELS means before attending) students to be of WELS faith, the restrictive practices prevail throughout a 4-year education at WLC. The best part of WLC is the choir which allows students opportunities to travel and grow in their vocal skills. While I believe I gained a valuable degree and learned beneficial lessons, I cannot in good faith recommend WLC to anyone.

WHAT I LIKED

I feel that it is a great place to grow my faith and that it has higher quality dorms and food than most other colleges.

WHAT I didn’t LIKE

I don't think that the food is super great and could be better in some areas.
