Fantastic access to resources. Apply to the Irvin D Reid Honors College for additionally smaller class sizes and passionate research professors
My only complaint is that the dining hall could be better in terms of management.
Wayne State University has provided a great atmosphere to meet new students and has several opportunities for pursuing different types of degrees and programs.
Campus food options are limited and the prices at the bookstore and student center are higher than in most places. Shopping off-campus is ideal for saving money.
Professors are amazing
I love the inner city feeling of living at Wayne State. Most professors here are easygoing and easy to communicate with. The students that attend here are also helpful and you can meet and make a lot of new friends.
I think their cafeteria and dorms can be improved.
The college has been strange throughout the pandemic, but Wayne State has been great at keeping us safe and happy!
Wayne State is a commuter college, so there is not much campus life.
I like how, despite being such a big school, it is easy to connect to other students at the uni. Although I can't say that I know what it is like at other big universities. Another thing that I felt was unique from other universities is that Wayne is integrated into the city of Detroit, there are so many places I can access, such as restaurants, stores, etc. all within walking/biking distance. The best time is during the fall, as you see the red and gold leaves litter the streets of Detroit.
Sometimes there can be small issues that crop up during your study at Wayne, although most of them can be resolved fairly quickly, there are times that it takes longer than it should. Another thing is that you should check who the professor is before taking the class, especially for physics or math, if you get stuck with a bad professor, it makes for a difficult semester...
