The University is centrally located in Monroe close to many options of things to do. It is located on a beautiful bayou where you can fish, ski, paddleboard, or just relax. The is a diversity of students and things to do on campus. Most of the professors and staff are willing to help in any way possible.
There has only been one issue I’ve had so far and it had nothing to do with the university itself. I had many holds from being able to start classes on time due to them not receiving my transcript from my local school board.
My favorite professors were more interested in what I was learning than how I was performing. When classes weren’t focused on tests and exams, but on papers and projects, I enjoyed it more and learned more as well. I got involved in Chi Alpha and it completely changed my life.
I’m vegan, so there aren’t many options when it comes to eating on campus. I really had to learn to cook, make time to cook and buy/get things to cook. We do have a free food pantry which is nice. So there’s no problem with the food unless you follow any sort of plant-based diet.
