How does Northland College reduce emissions and pollution on campus?

Great question! We have several solar panels, a windmill, solar water heaters, and geothermal energy for heating and cooling. We also are avid composters of food waste and grow a lot of food in our gardens on campus. We have a free bike shop and a free thrift store on campus for students to utilize for bike rentals and re-using clothes & dorm supplies! We have divested from fossil fuels, utilize sustainable building methods for on campus buildings, and have many classes on environmentalism and sustainability!

How is Northland College updating the curriculum to help students better prepare for the demand in the workforce?
Northland College
Northland professors value hands-on learning, so students are getting the chance to spend a lot of time in the outdoors (especially for natural resources majors!) doing field work, internships, and jobs in their field to help network and build the skills students need for the workforce. A liberal arts curriculum is also great because students take classes in a wide variety of subjects to help them view the world in a holistic & nuanced way so they are prepared for the ever-changing workforce and life outside of college! :)

What vegan options are available for attending students?
Northland College
Great question! We have a great local food system up here in the Northwoods, so tons of farmers are delivering fresh locally grown fruits & veggies to make vegan meals in the cafeteria! We also have meatless mondays in the cafeteria where all of dishes are completely vegetarian and vegan! There are plenty of nut milks, vegan ice cream, fruits & veggies, etc to get on-campus and there is a great co-op in town to get groceries for cooking in your dorm! We have a lot of plant based students here :)
