It is small and personal. For a community college, it is very good and great for helping make the transition into a 4-year university.
The online courses are difficult. The greek life is not good but the other aspects of social life are.
At Mineral Area College, they are very focused on ensuring that every student gets the best education possible with the resources they have. However, while the classes are excellent, the social life is very lacking and student involvement is lackluster at best. Tuition is much more affordable, especially with the sheer amount of financial aid available. Overall I'd rate Mineral Area College a solid 4 out of 5.
Prospective students should be aware of the lack of student involvement but should also recognize the immense focus on receiving a quality education at the community college level.
MAC has a great environment for students who come from a small town. The campus is very clean, and the staff is very friendly. Every course I have taken has challenged me to be a better student and young adult.
The limited dorm space.
It is a pretty nice school.
How far away it was from home.
