As Engineering Alumnae of Tuskegee University and Metter High School, Janice Thomas and Jada Thomas would like to promote the diversification of their chosen field by encouraging women of color in STEM.

Science, technology, engineering, and mathematics are growing fields that are driving positive change, creativity, and innovation all throughout the world.

These fields offer a myriad of opportunities for making an impact and propelling progress, often offering lucrative salaries and room for career advancement. However, the many benefits of STEM degrees are only accessible after spending significant time and money in college. For many STEM jobs, graduate degrees are also required. Underserved students often don’t have the wealth needed to pay for these many years of school, which contributes to the lack of representation in STEM jobs.

This scholarship seeks to support the diversification of STEM by uplifting women of color as they pursue higher education.

Any BIPOC female high school senior at Metter High School in Georgia who has at least a 3.0 GPA may apply for this scholarship opportunity if they are accepted and registered at a postsecondary institution where they will major in STEM.
