Susan Jeanne Grant Heart Award
Susan Grant was a beloved mother and an active presence in the Seattle Public Schools District for thirty-six years.
Her influence touched countless people and inspired many, including students and teachers alike. She constantly instilled lifelong lessons promoting positivity, safety, compassion, teamwork, and so much more. She was not only devoted to her family and students but also to her community.
This scholarship seeks to honor the impactful life of Susan Jeanne Grant by supporting students who are invested in their groups and organizations, has a desire to follow a career and technical education (CTE) pathway, and encompasses what it means to grow within your community.
This scholarship is for any high school senior who plans to attend a community college, a four-year college, or a trade school. We further encourage them to apply for this scholarship opportunity if they’re interested in agriculture,business, marketing, culinary, hospitality,education, human services, health, medical sciences, information technology, media arts, skilled trades, or STEM. The student should be involved in their student body, extracurricular organizations, and or volunteering.

The winner will be publicly announced on Apr 20, 2025. Prior to the announcement date, we may contact finalists with additional questions about their application. We will work with donors to review all applications according to the scholarship criteria. Winners will be chosen based on the merit of their application.
Award checks will be sent to the financial aid office of the winner's academic institution or future academic institution in their name to be applied to their tuition, and in the name of their institution (depending on the school's requirements). If the award is for a qualified educational non-tuition expense, we will work with the winner directly to distribute the award and make sure it goes towards qualified expenses.
Before we award the scholarship, the winner will be required to confirm their academic enrollment status. Depending on the circumstances, verification of Student ID and/or their most recent transcript will be required.
