I am currently pursuing a career in esthetics at Aveda Institute, a path I never imagined for myself until recently. For a long time, I felt unsure of what path I wanted to take. Then the opportunity to attend esthetic school arose, and the more I explored it, the more it felt like where I belong. The biggest inspiration for me was my best friend, who is a cosmetologist. I have watched her pour her heart into her work and light up when she talks about her clients. She not only styles hair but also uplifts her clients, providing comfort and genuine care. Seeing this revealed the power of the industry and inspired me to make a similar impact. One moment that stands out to me happened when I went with her to her salon one afternoon. I saw a client walk in, carrying the weight of the world on her shoulders. By the time she left, she was smiling, standing taller, and you could see the difference in her energy. That moment stuck with me because it showed me how beauty and wellness services go far beyond the surface. They reach something deeper, shifting how people feel about themselves, and that is the kind of impact I want to make. On a more personal level, I know what it feels like to look in the mirror and focus on flaws instead of appreciating my own strengths. I understand how exhausting it can feel to carry insecurity every single day. That is part of why I feel so drawn to esthetics. I want to be someone who helps others break out of that cycle. I want to help people see their beauty, inside and out, and give them the space to feel good about themselves, even if just for an hour at a time. Esthetics excites me because it blends science with care. I love learning about the skin, such as how it works, what it needs, and how it connects to overall health. But beyond the technical side, I also love the human side. I want to create an environment where my clients feel relaxed, safe, and valued. To me, a facial or a treatment is not just about the results on the outside, but how someone feels during and after the experience. My dream is for every client to leave not only with healthier skin, but also with a stronger sense of confidence. In the long run, I hope to keep growing in this field. I want to continue learning advanced treatments and techniques and eventually open my own space. I imagine creating a spa that feels like a sanctuary, a place where people step inside and immediately feel peace. I want it to be more than just a business and create a retreat, where every detail is designed to give people comfort and care. To me, esthetics is not just about outer beauty. It is about inner peace, self-care, and self-worth. It is about giving people the gift of feeling good in their own skin and creating a safe space where they can let go of stress and just be. I strive to leave a lasting impact by helping others feel grounded, valued, and empowered in their own skin.

I have chosen to pursue cosmetology because it allows me to combine my creativity, passion for beauty and desire to help others feel confident, unlike many career path cosmetology offers the unique opportunity to make a direct and immediate difference in someone’s life, a haircut, color, transformation, or set of nails might mean small to some people, but to a client, it can completely change how they feel about themselves. I want to be the person who gives others that boost of confidence, not just through beauty services, but through kindness, connection, and professionalism. Another reason I chose this field is because cosmetology is constantly evolving. There is always something new to learn whether it’s a trending haircut, a new skincare technique or a better product technology I enjoy hands-on learning far more than sitting in traditional classroom cosmetology school offers, interactive education that keeps me engaged and excited. I love that I’m able to express myself artistically every day while also continually improving my skills, the idea of mastering a craft and seeing growth in my work is highly motivating Cosmetology also offers flexibility and independence with experience. Cosmetologist can choose to work in a salon, rent their own booth, become a traveling stylist, or even open their own business. I am drawn to the idea of being my own boss one day building a loyal clientele and creating a welcome environment that reflects my personalities. It is one of my long-term goals. I want to create a salon experience where clients feel heard, respected and excited to return this field also gives me the ability to form Meaningful connections with others. A salon is more than a workplace. It becomes a community clients often talk and trust their stylist with their stories, struggles and achievements. I love the idea of building relationships, and being someone people look forward to visiting whether it’s helping a client prepare for a wedding, fixing a bad haircut that hurt their confidence, or just giving someone a relaxing escape from their daily stress, I will get to make a positive impact every day. Overall, I chose cosmetology because of blend creativity, personal connection, and career opportunity. It is a profession where I can continue learning express my passion for beauty and help people feel better about themselves for me. That is more than a job. It is a calling. I hope you consider me for your scholarship. I am constantly working to be the best version of myself inside of the industry and out.
