The Polish American Women's Scholarship was established in 2022 by Jaju Pierogi and the Polish American Heritage and Community Foundation.

The foundation works to uplift women of Polish descent who are in the process of earning their degree or certificate. Higher education is the ambition of many women and girls, as education offers life-altering opportunities that can be incredibly rewarding. Education can be helpful for anyone, but it is especially important for women and can be critical in gaining independence and changing the world.

By supporting women in their academic and career pursuits through this scholarship, Jaju Pierogi and the PACHF are further committed to strengthening philanthropy and collaboration within the Polish-American community. Both organizations prioritize the preservation of and the celebration of Polish heritage and culture.

Any female high school senior, undergraduate, graduate, or trade school student of Polish or Polish-American heritage may apply for this scholarship opportunity if she’s living in New England (Connecticut, Massachusetts, Maine, New Hampshire, Vermont, or Rhode Island) and if she’s involved in community service or leadership.

*There is no place to list nationality on your profile so there is NO need to have it on your profile.*

How do you maintain a connection to your Polish heritage?

Many Polish American families carry stories of resilience, sacrifice, and hard work. Reflect on a story, value, or woman from your family or community who has shaped you.

Polish-American identity is often rooted in strong intergenerational connections. How do you honor the women who came before you while also shaping a modern vision of what it means to be a Polish American woman today?
