Pearlie M. Westbrooks Memorial Scholarship
A passion for community service is a fundamental characteristic of a student dedicated to societal improvement. This passion fosters responsibility, empathy, and leadership, enriching personal growth and enhancing the academic journey. It is vital to recognize and nurture this passion through scholarships, encouraging more students to engage in community service, thereby shaping a socially conscious future generation.
The Pearlie M. Westbrooks Memorial Scholarship was established in memory of a beloved activist, educator and grandmother. Pearlie was passionate about giving back to her community however she could. This scholarship is open to high school seniors from the state of Mississippi who personify Pearlie's deep-seated passion for community service.
To apply, candidates must submit an essay detailing their participation in community activities.
How have you given back to your community thus far? How do you plan to continue to make a difference in your community through your college degree?
