On July 31, 2022, a tragic automobile accident occurred, taking the lives of Nickolas Roy and Scott Laverdure at the age of 22.

Nickolas and Scott were best friends, and their friendship grew while together on the basketball courts. Basketball and the desire to serve in the military cemented their friendship forever. Nick and Scott were a part of the Marine Corps Delayed Entry Program while attending Murdock High School in Winchendon MA, and Scott went on to serve in the Marines for four years upon graduation.

This scholarship seeks to honor the lives of Nickolas and Scott by supporting students from their home state as they pursue higher education.
