Joshua A. Vaughn demonstrated great commitment to education, youth, and community.

He worked for the State of Missouri Division of Youth Services for 10 years, holding various positions and was promoted to Assistant Regional Administrator for the St. Louis region. He was the only recipient in the St. Louis Region invited to the Missouri Leadership Academy, which he attended as part of the Class of 2020. Josh also spent time working for People’s Community Action Corporation, serving underrepresented communities in the St. Louis area. To honor his efforts as well as inspire the next generation, the Joshua A. Vaughn Memorial Scholarship will support a BIPOC student pursuing a career in the fields Josh was involved in.

BIPOC undergraduate students are eligible to apply if they are pursuing a career in criminal justice, social work, or community studies. Preference will be given to students who’ve spent time in juvenile justice programs or have been incarcerated. To apply, write about why you decided to pursue the career path you chose, and explain how you plan to improve your community after graduation.
