It all started with a tricycle... I took my tricycle apart with a couple of hand tools I grabbed from my grandfather's shed and put it back together. Why did I do such a thing? I wanted to learn how it worked and why every part of the tricycle was there. Ever since then, I was hooked on taking things apart, learning how they worked, and putting them back together. Which eventually evolved into scooters, bikes, then to cars, so now i figured... why not planes! Having a career in aviation maintenance will make me feel on top of the world! I am a very attention to detail individual with a very ambitious mindset and an out of this world work ethic. I make it a goal everyday to learn something new, even if I'm already familiar with the subject. Keeping an open mind has taught me everything I know, and motivates me to always to apply it to everything in life. Though I have my flaws, I use them as a source of motivation to constantly improve and do better in all aspects. My greatest attribute is my willingness to find the safest and most efficient way of completing a task thrown my way. My name is Logan Yang, and I am a future aviation maintenance technician. Thank you for reading my essay!

Hello! I am Furqan; I have worked in the airline industry for over a decade. I finally found one of the passionate and excellent work environments I have been searching for. I have worked many jobs, and this year I earned a position in the company. The department works side by side with the Aircraft maintenance department. I find pleasure and joy in fixing things. So I should give it a try. I spoke to many mechanics and asked why they love their job and if it changed their lives. I have heard many stories, and the one that stuck to me the most is " It was the best move I have ever made, and I did it when I was 30 years old". You might be wondering why? It is because his life was quite similar to mine, and he started school at my age. After months of research, I found a school focused on the student. The day I was told to try out for the school, I needed to pass the entrance exam. I did very well and exceptionally well on the mechanical aptitude exam. I received an 89%, and I was told this was like 100%, which is difficult to attain. I felt accomplished and ready to apply myself to this program and life choice. I have worked as an EMT for three years, attended full-time school, and had a job at the airport. I was never exposed to the field till I joined an airline. It is a great decision. I wish to excel in whatever I do and help others like me if I ever encounter anyone. Thank you for your time and consideration. I hope I receive this scholarship so some of my financial burdens are relieved and I can focus more on my studies.
