The La Fuerza de Uno Scholarship expands access to higher education for Latino students raised in single-parent households who face financial barriers to college. Our scholarship was born from lived experience. Our founder was raised by a single mother without financial advantages that can make higher education feel attainable. Through opportunity, plenty of support, hard work, and a whole lot of grit, that journey eventually led to Harvard. We believe a student’s family income, household structure, or immigration status should never determine how far their talent and ambition can take them. Each year, La Fuerza de Uno awards at least one $5,000 scholarship to a graduating Latino high school senior pursuing higher education. One parent may have raised them. But they shouldn’t have to build their future alone.
