I have told plenty of people that I like the outing parts of the school, rather than the school itself. If this school was anywhere other than Hawai'i I believe I would have transferred by now in the second semester of being here. I continuously have said that I enjoy living in Hawai'i, but the school is still school, and it's okay. It is not the best school in the world, it's a pretty scenic campus, but the buildings are very historic and old. For every food spot on campus, the hours are terrible! It is very difficult for someone who has food allergies to eat here, but the food quality is good.
The food and the hours of the places on campus.
The transition from online to in-person hits kinda hard, but overall the campus is decent and takes some time to get used to.
The availability of food on campus is quite limited as well as very pricey compared to off-campus.
The biggest benefit of UH is the location. Oahu is a beautiful island with so much aloha. I completed the accelerated nursing program for postgraduates. It was extremely difficult and frustrating at times. But I received an adequate education to be a successful nurse. And I met amazing people.
The location and people.
UH, Manoa is a great school for Marine Biology, but if you aren't studying that there isn't a lot of money into other programs, even in other fields of biology. It is extremely expensive living here and rent is through the roof. I do not recommend coming here if you are studying anything other than Marine biology or if you are not comfortable spending more than 100+ dollars on simple staple groceries, even when rationing for the month.
I like the independence this campus offers. There are also many activities for students to come together and experience. The education is great depending on who the professor is, be sure to check the professor's rating before taking the class.
The housing and the rooming are okay but the bathrooms aren't as clean and there is mold in the shower. Also, the hours for the food place on campus close early so it's hard to grab something to eat if you have a late class.
It's Hawaii! So it is incredible, food is okay, dorms are humid, parking is awful but the beaches are beautiful!
Parking and dorms.
