WHAT I LIKED

As an Animation Major, the education experience is very engaging and filled with enrichment. The courses, although difficult, helped challenge me academically and improved me thoroughly as an artist in a short amount of time. Additionally, the campus is great; there are a variety of dining locations, the dining hall is close to the dorms, and the environment is very clean and natural. I would highly recommend it.

WHAT I didn’t LIKE

Despite all the benefits of being at San Jose State University, I should warn prospective students to be aware and prepared for the difficulty of these courses. For the animation major, the coursework is dense, and it is fairly easy to fall behind without substantial effort being put in. Additionally, all of the majors at the school are impacted, with some being very hard to get into.

WHAT I LIKED

San Jose State University has a lot of campus resources and helps that they offer to their students. As well as many social organizations that students can participate in.

WHAT I didn’t LIKE

If you're a commuter and don't live in the dorms, get here before 8 AM so that you can find a good parking spot. I believe the only parking garage that has an elevator is the North Parking Garage. The other parking garages only have stairs.

My time at San Jose State was primarily online due to the pandemic. With that in mind, I would have to say professors were extremely understanding of the struggles students faced and the workload was fair. Professors were very made sure to be available and flexible which was great! Overall my experience with San Jose State was great!

WHAT I didn’t LIKE

I commuted to school my first semester and would say that was the hardest part.
