I think that you need to tour the school. But if you care about academics and sports, this is a D3 school for you. The professors are brilliant and prepare you to go straight into the work field or graduate school.
Make sure you want to be in a city.
Rhodes gives a sense of belonging to every student. The faculty truly wants you to succeed and are there to support you in every way possible.
Living accommodations are hard to get at Rhodes College. The grading scale is very harsh and it is a big change from high school.
Rhodes College has the most amazing professors who really care about their students.
The food is very subpar.
Rhodes College is small but has a variety of organizations to get involved in and excellent resources. Financial Aid works to meet students with financial gaps for students. Athletics are not a huge cultural determinant of one's experience, but I was able to walk on the women's golf team and found a family. Being in Memphis, Rhodes is located in a growing city with lots to offer.
Rhodes is not very diverse. Yet as a Black woman, there are groups of us on campus such as Africana Women Supporting Ourselves and Maintaining Excellence (A.W.S.O.M.E) and the Black Student Association that helps students make connections. For other minorities, there are a variety of clubs and groups as well. Although small, they are potent for belonging.
