Background:
High school senior (2024)
Passion for using technological tools and solutions to enhance daily activities

Technology has a transformative power for addressing specific needs, both in daily life and in specific industries.

Unfortunately, tech is a notoriously inaccessible field that often requires significant financial resources to enter and pursue. As a result, the positive changes and innovations possible through tech are limited due to a lack of diverse perspectives in the field.

This scholarship seeks to support students who are passionate about pursuing tech in order to make positive contributions to the world.

Any high school senior (2024) who has a passion for using technological tools and solutions to enhance daily activities may apply for this scholarship opportunity, but those who belong to underrepresented groups within their academic and professional communities are preferred, as are first-generation college students and those with community service or volunteering experience.

To apply, tell us how you use technology to be innovative in your field of study.

Sydni L. Halliburton May 6th, 2024 Diligence and Innovativeness In what ways could technology be innovative, and helpful with my studies? One of the most obvious, and popular options, would be the internet! Google would be a good example of the most common search engines that a great number of many people use daily. If you have a question for almost anything, it can be found somewhere on the internet. As helpful as the internet can be, there is a chance you may come across false information that uninformed people have made public for others to believe. But with a decent amount of researching and reliable websites, you will be able to find the most accurate or correct answer. Another good example of innovative technology would be Microsoft Authenticator, and Microsoft outlook. I personally use these two tools for communication and security between myself and the college I will be attending this coming fall. Microsoft Authenticator is a very helpful resource when it comes to security and verification of your identity. The app set’s passwords, makes codes, and locks in your personal information so it’s secure, and constructs it so your assets are only accessible to you. Microsoft Outlook is an app for communicating between other persons, more for professional and business communication instead of casual. On Outlook, you may send/receive emails, manage a personal calendar, save contacts, and track tasks, in addition to more little tricks you eventually figure out as you use the app. Lastly, an I-Pad wouldn't seem to be as innovative as you think, until you consider all of the things you’re capable of doing, and what all you can acquire from them. You must also consider the size of the screen, and how that could contribute a lot to its use. Now, most of the newer Ipads are able to be connected to a pen, and you may draw or sketch any type of graph or chart if you needed to. Or, you could simply write notes or important information into your I-Pad if that's what you prefer over typing. Because it's online, it will save you from keeping up with any papers, and will be alot easier to track and access your work. These are only a few good examples of very inventive tools that are good implements to have while you're in college and need some resources to make your studying and work a little less of a hassle. These advantageous technologies can really help you with work in your classes, and will assist you to obtain your degree, and succeed in the field you chose to pursue.
