Mabel Kiracofe Scholarship
The pursuit of education is a decades-long journey filled with different schools, teachers, peers, and obstacles along the way.
While college is often seen as the most important segment of one’s academic journey, the early years of schooling can be crucial in preparing students to succeed throughout the rest of their education. Elementary school is a foundational experience that can instill positive habits and lessons in young minds that will enable them to make the most out of their education for years to come, helping them attain success even in the most rigorous and challenging courses in college.
This scholarship seeks to support students who attended Coleman Place Elementary School as they prepare to finish high school and move on to pursuing higher education.
Any high school senior at Booker T. Washington High School, Granby High School, Lake Taylor High School, Maury High School or Norview High School in Norfolk, Virginia, may apply for this scholarship opportunity if they attended Coleman Place Elementary and have at least a 2.0 GPA.
