The loss of a loved one is hard to deal with and affects people at different points in their lives, manifesting in different ways.

However, loss should not define someone. It is important to grieve but equally important not to lose yourself along the way. The perseverance it takes to overcome such challenging points in life should be acknowledged and celebrated, since this is no easy feat. Jeans kindness and generosity will be remembered by all who had the pleasure of knowing him. He was a giver and ultimately loved helping others. The Jean Antoine Joas Scholarship will honor the memory of Jean Antoine Joas while supporting students who have experienced the loss of a loved one.

High school seniors, trade school, undergraduate and graduate students are eligible to apply if they have lost a loved one. To apply, write about yourself and how you plan to use your career to make a positive impact on the world.
