Patrease Eugenia Jones-Brown was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, community leader, and proud graduate of South Carolina State University.
Patrease believed that higher education was more than a path to a career—it was a transformative journey that fostered personal growth, confidence, and opportunity. She championed education as a force for empowerment, often encouraging others to cultivate ambition, take action, and pursue their dreams with unwavering determination.

She embodied this principle in every aspect of her life, inspiring those around her to follow through on their ambitions, stay true to their commitments, and embrace their full potential. Her life was a testament to resilience, purpose, and forward momentum, and through this scholarship, her vibrant spirit will continue to uplift and inspire future generations.
