Once I graduate, I plan to attend Tarleton State University, where I will enroll in the Presidential Honors program. Through Tarleton, I will achieve my bachelor degree in Agricultural Communications/business and graduate with an internship at a place of choice. After graduating from Tarleton State University, I plan to work as a field reporter for the Cowboy Channel or RFD tv. I also plan to become an assistant for professional-level rodeo contestants where I will run their social media platforms and appearances and venues etc… During my internship I also plan to obtain my real estate license where I will be able to sell houses and property in and around my area. I’ve also planned to continue my photography journey ,where I take pictures for contestants during rodeo performances and have recently decided to start doing personable photo shoots as- well. While to most, this may seem like an absurd amount of options, coming from a lower-income family, I’ve decided that I will not depend on others to be successful. In life, people aren’t respected and are constantly looking for handouts, and as young women, people expect us to become nothing more than average. I’ve decided to stop the generational trauma here and become someone that wasn't expected to be extraordinary. While along my journey I will experience hardships, I will not let those hardships define my ability to persevere. I will achieve all my goals through hard work, the ability to be coachable, and Jesus Christ my lord and savior. With these characteristics, I will be successful.

I have always found joy in helping others. Helping others can come in many different forms including volunteering, training, coaching, or just being available when someone needs assistance. Throughout my time in high school, I have also become very interested in the sciences. Biology and Chemistry have turned into two of my favorite classes that I have ever taken. In the future, it would be my dream to merge the two and become a nurse. It is my thought that becoming a nurse I can not only continue finding joy in helping others, but I can also take what I’ve learned and enjoyed about the sciences. I was recently accepted to Texas A&M University in College Station where I plan to spend the next 4 years chasing my dreams. With all of the rich traditions at TAMU, I feel like it is an ideal place to call home. Becoming a nurse would be a huge achievement in my life. When I attain this goal, I would be the only person in my family to become a professional in the medical field. My parents have always worked very hard, and they taught me the value of hard work. Through their hard work they have always worked to provide everything that I've ever needed. I feel as though it is my turn to give back to them, but I can’t start that process until I complete my next level of education. It would be a true blessing for me to receive this scholarship as it would be my pathway to start my educational process, thus being able to give back.
