David Ford was an industry icon in the water resources field, specifically hydrology and hydraulics.

Water resources engineering has many tangible impacts and can be wielded to solve real-world challenges. The field is responsible for monitoring water quality, managing the water supply, designing infrastructure, maintaining flood control, and beyond. Failures in any of these systems can have dire consequences on agriculture, individuals, and entire communities. 

This scholarship seeks to honor the life of David Ford by supporting students who share his passion for water resources.

Any undergraduate or graduate student who is pursuing civil engineering with a focus on water resources may apply for this scholarship opportunity if they have at least a 2.5 GPA and if they are willing to accept an internship with HDR, workload depending.
