Barbara P. Alexander was a beloved aunt who passed away too soon.

In today’s society, doctors and other medical professionals are playing a more important role than ever. Unfortunately, the medical field is still lacking diversity and equal representation. Just 5% of physicians are Black and only 5.8% are Hispanic, resulting in persistent bias and discrimination within the field.

This scholarship seeks to honor the life of Barbara P. Alexander by supporting underrepresented students pursuing careers in medicine.

Any BIPOC high school senior or undergraduate student who has at least a 2.5 GPA and is pursuing the medical field may apply for this scholarship.
