Our story

Every contribution, regardless of size, will help us carry Quincy’s name and legacy forward. By supporting this scholarship, you are investing in a student’s future and helping inspire the next generation of people who will care for our land, protect our communities, and serve others. Although Quincy is no longer with us, the impact of his life and work can continue through the opportunities this scholarship creates. Together, we can turn the loss of someone deeply valued into a lasting source of encouragement and opportunity for future generations.

Our goal

Quincy D. Jones was a dedicated wildland firefighter who devoted himself to protecting the land and natural resources that mean so much to our communities. Following his passing, we wanted to find a meaningful way to honor his memory and ensure that his legacy of service and dedication would continue to make a difference for years to come. The Quincy D. Jones Memorial Scholarship was created to support the next generation of individuals pursuing careers in earth science, fire science, forestry, or agriculture. These fields play an important role in protecting our environment, managing our natural resources, and keeping our communities safe. Our goal is to raise funds to establish and sustain an annual $500 scholarship awarded to one graduating high school student who plans to continue their education at an accredited college, university, or training program in one of these fields. The scholarship will help ease the financial burden of continuing education while encouraging students to pursue careers that reflect the values Quincy represented through his work and dedication.

To my fellow nature and environment lovers. Quincy would have supported you through this journey, as much as he did with me. In loving memory of the best mentor ever!
