Help Dissolve the Financial Roadblock to College

I was a first generation college student and know firsthand how difficult it is to take a full college course load while simultaneously working multiple jobs to pay for my own education. I also know how a person can struggle financially for years after graduating because of having to repay loan debt. I've been a public educator in Ohio schools for 27 years. I know and understand the financial burdens many families are facing. I have taught numerous exceptional students over the years with academic promise, ambition, drive, motivation, and the hope to work in a career that requires a college degree. One thing that stands in many of their ways is simply the cost of a college education. The cost alone can make the dream seem out of reach. I'm also a member of a scholarship committee that receives and reviews multiple applications each year. It is heartbreaking to read the stories and learn of the personal and traumatic challenges so many students are facing. Every year I wish I could help more students with funds for college. Scholarship opportunities in this area of Ohio are not advertised, well-known, or plentiful. It is my hope to raise funds to be able to award more scholarships to students in Carroll, Coshocton, and Tuscarawas Counties in Ohio. I want to enable students who are struggling financially to be able to pursue the higher education that they deserve.
