Paying for college with little or no family assistance can feel impossible and often pushes students to their limits.
Many students work tirelessly to finance their college education, often taking a full course load while holding down a part-time or even full-time job in order to minimize their student loans and cover their living expenses. This balancing act can be overwhelming, especially for students dealing with personal challenges or trauma while trying to focus on their future.
This scholarship aims to support students who are struggling to pay for college but who haven’t given up on their dreams.
Any high school senior or two or four-year undergraduate student who is a resident of Carroll, Coshocton, or Tuscarawas County in Ohio may apply for this scholarship opportunity. However, applicants with a clear career goal who are employed, ambitious and determined to overcome personal trauma in order to succeed are strongly encouraged to apply.
To apply, tell us about yourself, what has made you want to pursue your chosen career, what challenges you have overcome, and how that experience impacted your educational goals.
Tell us a bit about yourself and what has made you want to pursue your chosen career. Additionally, tell us about a challenge you have overcome and how it has impacted your educational goals.

Your privacy is a top priority on the Bold.org platform, and you can find our privacy policy in full here. The winner will be publicly announced on May 3, 2027. Prior to the announcement date, we may contact finalists with additional questions about their application. We will work with donors to review all applications according to the scholarship criteria. Winners will be chosen based on the merit of their application.
Award checks will be sent to the financial aid office of the winner's academic institution or future academic institution in their name to be applied to their tuition, and in the name of their institution (depending on the school's requirements). If the award is for a qualified educational non-tuition expense, we will work with the winner directly to distribute the award and make sure it goes towards qualified expenses.
Before we award the scholarship, the winner will be required to confirm their academic enrollment status. Depending on the circumstances, verification of Student ID and/or their most recent transcript will be required.
