Dear Solaita, I'm writing to say thank you for awarding me with your scholarship. Thank you so much, your support means the world to me as I will be able to use this award to continue my path to becoming a doctor. I've become aware of how much college could cost and why some people put off their dreams; however, your support has alleviated this concern for me. Waking up to a $1,500 scholarship award truly motivated me to continue working hard my final year of high school. I cannot wait to pursue my degree in Neuroscience and make a difference for somebody else as you did for me! I'm hoping to attend college in Atlanta at either Emory University or Georgia State University. I would love to stay in contact with you during my journey! Thank you again for your generosity and support. Sincerely, Nasir Muhammad

Dear Solaita, I want to express my heartfelt appreciation for selecting me as the recipient of the Norman C. Nelson IV Memorial Scholarship. It truly means so much to be recognized in this way, and I feel both grateful and privileged to be honored in Norman C. Nelson IV’s memory through this award. This generous support lifts a significant financial weight from my shoulders and allows me to focus wholeheartedly on my studies and community work. By easing some of the costs associated with my education, you’re helping me pursue my dream of becoming a Pediatric Oncologist, a journey inspired by losing my best friend Brooklynn to cancer. From those early days in the hospital at her side, I’ve dedicated myself to learning and serving, and I’m eager to continue that commitment through my studies at UC Irvine. Your kindness will help me gain clinical certifications, engage in cancer research, and lead health literacy projects for underserved youth. My goal is to give back by returning to the San Joaquin Valley, where the need for compassionate healthcare is urgent and personal. I’m honored that your mission aligns so closely with my own aspirations, and I’m glad to have learned about Norman C. Nelson IV through this scholarship. Thank you for believing in me and investing in my future. Because of your generosity, I’m able to take the next steps toward making a difference in the lives of children and families who need it most. Thank you, Maryam Webster
