Dear Marggi, I'm truly grateful to have been chosen as a recipient of the Douglass M. Hamilton Memorial Scholarship. It means so much to me to receive this recognition as a student athlete and someone who works hard in both cross country and track and field, while also maintaining high honors. This scholarship not only eases my financial worries, but also gives me the freedom to focus on my training, studies, and personal growth without the added stress of expenses. I'm honored to carry on Douglass M. Hamilton's legacy through this scholarship, and I appreciate the Hamilton family's dedication to helping students like me access higher education. People like me are oftentimes never considered for anything, and the fact that I was able to win such a large amount to help fund my education and my goals in life is such a relief that I am not alone.
