The Steven Ligoci Memorial Scholarship was created to honor Steven “Steve” Ligoci’s remarkable life, work ethic, generosity, and the lasting impact he made on everyone fortunate enough to know him. Steve was taken far too soon during one of the happiest and most fulfilling chapters of his life, leaving behind his loving partner, two children, family, and a community that felt the strength of his presence. Although we cannot change the fact that his life ended too soon, we can make certain that his name, his values, and everything he stood for continue to live on. Steve built his life around hard work, the skilled trades, and helping others. He gave his time, knowledge, and talents freely to employers, customers, friends, family, and members of his community. He believed in taking pride in what you do, showing up for the people who matter, and giving your best to those who recognized and respected your worth. This scholarship was created so those values can continue making a difference. Each year, it will support a hardworking, driven student who demonstrates dedication, perseverance, and a commitment to helping others while pursuing their education or career path. Our hope is that Steve’s legacy continues to open doors, create opportunities, and change lives. In this way, Steve can continue doing what he did throughout his life: helping others, giving back, and leaving the world better than he found it.
