Not only for how it helps fund my education, but you reminded me that I'm not alone and there are generous people willing to help those in need. I would like to express my deepest gratitude for the scholarship award. Since beginning the nursing program at UH Maui in the fall of 2024, I have been unable to work as much due to the program’s rigorous demands. My husband has taken on the role of sole provider for our family of five. Despite these challenges, my acceptance into this highly competitive program has been one of the greatest blessings for our family and will continue to positively impact our future. I am incredibly excited and determined to achieve my lifelong dream of becoming a nurse. Receiving this scholarship means more than words can express and it eases the financial burden on my family and allows me to fully focus on my education. After graduating, my goal is to work in the ICU at Maui Memorial Medical Center, where I am currently employed as an aide. I am drawn to the ICU because of the wide range of care it offers, and I hope to expand my expertise in critical care, especially in cardiac procedures and post-surgical care. The more I grow in knowledge and skills, the more valuable I can be to my patients and community. Thank you for playing a crucial role in helping me pursue this dream.
