The Kristina Lash Memorial Scholarship was established to honor the life, legacy, and calling of Kristina “Kristy” Lash by supporting students pursuing a career in nursing. Nursing was more than Kristy’s profession—it was her calling and her professional home. She cared deeply about her work and the people she served, and throughout her treatment for breast cancer, one of her greatest hopes was to return to the career she loved. Tragically, her cancer was aggressive, and despite a heroic battle, Kristy passed away at the age of 49 before she was able to return to nursing. Through this scholarship, we hope to carry forward Kristy’s dedication to nursing by helping the next generation of nurses pursue their own calling. We recognize that becoming a nurse requires tremendous commitment, hard work, and financial sacrifice. Our mission is to ease a small part of that burden by providing financial support to deserving nursing students as they work toward their education and future careers. We hope that this scholarship makes a meaningful difference in the lives of its recipients and, through the patients and families they will one day care for, extends that impact even further.
