Hello, Mesi Anpil! Thank you for selecting to be a recipient of the Marie Jean Baptiste Memorial Scholarship. I'm incredibly grateful for this recognition, and I'm honored to carry on Marie Jean Baptiste's legacy through this scholarship. Receiving this award eases the financial demands of my studies and allows me to concentrate more deeply on my coursework and service commitments. Your generosity is helping me continue my education at the University of Connecticut, where I'm working toward a degree in Speech, Language, & Hearing Sciences with double minors in French and Linguistics. As someone who volunteers as an Adult ESL/ELL Teaching Assistant and works as an ESL Intern, community service is at the heart of who I am. My experiences supporting immigrants and adult learners have shaped my values and strengthened my desire to give back. With this degree, I hope to continue serving multilingual and multicultural communities—empowering others by improving access to language services and educational opportunities. Knowing that this scholarship honors Marie Jean Baptiste's dedication to education and community service inspires me even more to make a positive impact. Your commitment to uplifting students, especially those with Haitian and Haitian-American backgrounds, is truly meaningful and motivates me to do the same. I'm sincerely appreciative of your support and look forward to carrying Marie's spirit of service into my future work. Thank you, Kemberly Denerville

Dear Marie Jean Baptiste Memorial Scholarship, I am writing to express my sincere gratitude for being selected as a finalist. I am truly honored and humbled by your consideration, and generosity. I deeply appreciate your support in helping me achieve my educational goals. Winning this scholarship, I can focus more on my studies at Oakwood University in the fall and work towards my degree in Biology and minor in Music. This financial assistance will alleviate much of the stress related to funding my education, allowing me to dedicate more time to my academic and extracurricular pursuits. This scholarship would be a confidence booster and help inspire and motivate me to be my best. Thanks in advance.
