My sister, Jennifer, is the inspiration for this scholarship fund. We lost her very suddenly in 2024 at age 51. In her honor, I have created this scholarship fund to support teenage mothers who want to pursue the field of nursing. Jennifer had her first daughter at age 17, and went on to obtain a Master of Nursing degree and become a Vice President for a national hospice and palliative care organization. She never let her circumstances keep her down. She had a heart the size of her beloved home state of Texas, and a fierceness to match. This scholarship is intended to help the other "Jennifers" out there pursue their dream of nursing.
