Dear Cindy Brown, I would like to express my gratitude in regards to being selected as a finalist for this scholarship. No amount of words can express the impact this has on my family and I. My dad is now home from deployment and is currently recovering from surgery. This contribution helps alleviate a great financial stress on my family. I will be starting at the University of California Riverside this fall, majoring in political science and international relations. I am a part of the Learning Living Community “Mundo” centered on building a community for latino students. I plan on joining Model United Nations and Mock Trial as I continue to strive for a career in the law field. During highschool I gained over 60 credits from Advanced Placement and Dual-Enrollment classes giving me sophomore standing, allowing me to easily graduate in three years.
