The Flicka Alvarado Legacy Scholarship was established to honor the life, generosity, and enduring impact of Hector D. “Flicka” Alvarado. Proud of his roots in Douglas and deeply committed to his community, Flicka lived with kindness, humility, loyalty, and a genuine love for helping others. This scholarship seeks to support Douglas High School graduates who reflect those same values through community involvement, resilience, leadership, and hometown pride. Through the support of donors, the scholarship will help future students pursue their educational goals while carrying forward Flicka’s legacy.
