I'm Zoey, and I'm 17 years old. For me, art is more than a hobby; it's a means to express my ideas and emotions and a visual language that helps me comprehend and engage with the world. From an early age, I remember being captivated by colors and textures, continuously sketching and painting. Over time, this enthusiasm has only intensified, inspiring me to experiment with various media such as digital art, sketching, mixed media, and makeup.

I witnessed firsthand as a kid how a good haircut or a good skincare regimen could totally flip a person's self-esteem around. This piqued my interest in the actual impact of aesthetic work. It's not just a job; it's a calling, a means of being able to utilize my creative aspect as well as genuinely wanting to make a positive impact in people's lives. I remember growing up with horrible acne, and when you're eleven, there is nothing worse that can happen to you. I remember poking, prodding, and popping at my skin almost every day, and eventually begging my mom to buy me something, anything to help.
So one day my mom took me to Ulta, I remember it well, getting help from a young woman no older than twenty-five, and what she recommended was a Mario Badescu skincare set with about 5–6 products. I was ecstatic; I felt on top of the world. This was going to be the cure to all my problems. It wasn't; it definitely wasn't the set for me; it barely did anything for my acne, but the high did not go away. Soon that love for skincare expanded to makeup; that same begging scene happened many times; sometimes it was a new serum or mascara, maybe even a fancy lipstick if I was feeling brave. My first paycheck went to what was at the time the New Fenty Foundation, while my passion for beauty grew.
I only ever realized that this could be a career when my sister asked me what to do about her Melasma. She told me how insecure it made her feel, and how much I knew about skincare made her want to ask me. She's 15 years older than me, but she trusted me to answer her questions, to help her. I felt amazing because this was the first time someone had come to be an authority on anything. And at that moment I realized I want to do this; I want to help people this way. That I can keep this deep passion and grow my knowledge and work with to help them.
So that's what I've been pursuing since that day 3 years ago. I've known this is what I want. I've kept experimenting with makeup and trying new skincare. Researching trying to figure out what works for what and the science behind why it works, and I still love every second of it.
